Participants sought for first-ever study into establishing costs for cow-calf producers

Aug 31, 2020 | 9:56 AM

Participants are being recruited for focus groups that will be part of the Canadian Cow-Calf Cost of Production Network.

It’s being funded by the Beef Cattle Research council and involves 26 cow-calf producer focus groups across Canada.

The goal is to establish baseline cost of production statistics and develop future farm scenarios.

It’s the first project to attempt to provide national benchmarking data for cow-calf producers across Canada.

If chosen to be part of a focus group, participants will get a $500 honorarium.

Producers in Alberta can contact the beef specialists at Agriprofit$ at Alberta agriculture.
