Individual from Ecole St. John Paul II School diagnosed with COVID-19

MEDICINE HAT, AB- An individual at Ecole St. John Paul II School has tested positive with COVID-19.

The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education confirmed the diagnosis on Facebook Sunday afternoon.

“On Saturday, August 29, a case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in an individual from École St. John Paul II School. MHCBE and school administration have been working closely with Alberta Health Services (AHS) to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all staff and students,“ the Facebook post reads.

The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education says an investigation was conducted and no other staff members are required to self-isolate. School for students is expected to go ahead as planned on Monday, August 31.

Facilities staff are conducting a deep sanitization of the building prior to reopening.
