MEDICINE HAT, AB – Nature is a proven way de-stress and a pair of programs next week from the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program will get people thinking and experiencing nature.

Paint in the Park will take place at 10 a.m. on Sept. 2. Watercolour painting supplies, cards and envelopes will be provided to people to paint a greeting card.

Organizers recommend participants be at least 13 years old and ask people to bring their own lawn chair.

“Participants can relax and be inspired by nature as they paint a card to give to someone special in their life,” reads a release from organizers.

On Sept. 5, a Listening Walk will take place from 10 to 11 a.m.

Everyone is invited to register but it’s strongly recommended participants are at least 16 years old.

“This walk is a form of moving meditation where participants focus on the present moment to fully appreciate all of the sights and sounds around them,” reads the release. “Participants should be prepared to walk silently on a paved path and be absorbed by their own thoughts for an extended period of time.”

Due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions pre-registration is required for both events, which are limited to 10 people. Location and other event details will be shared upon registration.

To register, call 403-529-6225 or email mhip@natureline.info.

Police Point Park will continue its Wellness in Nature series for the rest of 2020.
