Work on Strachan Road resumes next week

Aug 7, 2020 | 9:38 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The final phase of work to rehabilitate Strachan Road will begin next week between Sprague Way and Stratton Way.

The project to improve Strachan Road between 13th Avenue and South Ridge Drive started in 2017 as part of the City of Medicine Hat’s ongoing program to address failing infrastructure.

Work expected to be finished by early October, weather dependent.

Detours in the area will begin to go up over the weekend.

The city advises motorists of the following traffic accommodations:

  • Eastbound traffic will be allowed along one lane of Strachan Road, through the construction zone
  • Speed limits will be reduced in the construction zone for the safety of workers
  • Westbound traffic will be detoured through an alternate route. Please follow the posted detour signs

Motorists are reminded to obey all posted signs and detours, and watch for further updates as the project progresses.
