MEDICINE HAT, AB – What started as a complaint about drug use downtown ended with police finding a stun gun on Thursday.

According to the Medicine Hat Police Service, a citizen reported open-air intravenous drug use happening in the 400 block of Fifth Avenue SE to members of the MHPS foot patrol at about 1:30 p.m.

Police found the group believed to be responsible and learned an arrest warrant had been issued for one of them.

The male was arrested and a search found the stun gun – which is a prohibited weapon – as well as a stainless steel axe and a throwing knife.
