133 new cases

One new COVID-19 case in Medicine Hat, Alberta cases jump again

There are another 133 cases of COVID-19 in Alberta, one of which is in Medicine Hat.

The city has 62 recorded total cases – 10 are active, 51 recovered and there has been one death.

In Alberta, there are 10,603 total cases – 1,430 considered active, an increase of 33, and 8,983 recovered, an increase of 97.

There are 87 Albertans currently in hospital due to COVID-19, 17 of which are in ICU. There are a total of 190, deaths, an increase of three.

The province conducted 8,975 tests in the past 24 hours.

The South Zone has a total of 1,630 cases —1,472 recovered, an increase of 12, and 142 active, an increase of two.

There are 16 people in the zone in hospital, three of which are in ICU, and there have been 16 deaths.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, will provide her next in-person update on July 30.

Cypress County has totalled 31 cases – one active case and 30 recovered.

The County of Forty Mile has 12 total cases, three active cases and nine recovered.

The MD of Taber has 34 total cases — 16 active and 18 recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has 9 active cases and three recovered.

Brooks has 1,123 total cases —1,113 are recovered and one is active. Brooks has recorded nine deaths. The County of Newell has a total of 23 cases — three active and 20 recovered.

The County of Warner has 53 total cases. There are now six active cases and 46 recovered. There has been one death in the county.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 118 cases. Of those, 43 are listed as active and 73 recovered and there has been two deaths there. Lethbridge County has 26 cases, 9 active cases and 17 recovered.

The figures on alberta.ca are “up-to-date as of end of day July 28, 2020.”

Saskatchewan reported 50 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, three of which are in the South Zone.

The release from the province says 44 of the new cases are “from one communal living setting.”

Saskatchewan has a total of 1,268 cases, 322 considered active. There are 929 recovered cases and there have been 17 COVID-19 deaths in the province.
