Record number of daily COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan reported 60 new cases of COVID-19 today, its largest single-day count to date, and Hutterite communities are particularly affected.

Of the 60 total cases, 48 of those are on colonies in the southwest and west central areas of the province. Forty-three cases are from a single communal living settlement in the RM of Lawtonia, located about 60 kilometres east of Swift Current.

In total there are 17 Hutterite communities in Saskatchewan with active COVID-19 cases.

There are two other cases in the South, four in Saskatoon, three in the Central, two in the Far North and one in the North regions.

Province-wide, there are 1,030 reported cases with 190 considered active. A total of 825 people have recovered.
