Alberta has 1,251 active cases

Active COVID-19 cases continue to rise, eight in Medicine Hat

Medicine Hat has two new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 58 over the course of the pandemic. There are now eight active cases, 49 recovered cases and there has been one death.

One recovery has been moved back to the active category since Tuesday.

There are 133 new cases of COVID-19 reported across the province on Wednesday. The province now has 9,861 total cases — 1,251 active cases, an increase of 58, and 8,436 recovered cases, an increase of 74.

There are 102 Albertans currently in hospital due to COVID-19, a jump of nine since Tuesday. Of the 102 in hospital 18 are in ICU, the same as reported Tuesday. There have been two additional deaths for a total of 174.

The province conducted 8,148 tests in the past 24 hours.

The South Zone has a total of 1,543 cases —1,395 recovered, an increase of four, and 135 active, an increase of four.

There are 10 people in the zone in hospital, an increase of one. There are currently two people in ICU in the South Zone, and there have been 13 deaths.

Cypress County has totalled 30 cases, all recovered.

The County of Forty Mile has nine total cases, three active cases and six recovered.

The MD of Taber has 27 total cases — 15 active and 12 recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has seven active cases.

Numbers remain unchanged in Brooks, where there have been 1,121 total cases —1,109 are recovered and three are active. Brooks has recorded nine deaths. The County of Newell is showing a total of 22 cases — two active and 20 recovered.

The County of Warner has 48 total cases. There are now six active cases and 41 recovered. There has been one death in the county.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 88 cases, meaning one case has been reclassified to another zone. Of those, 37 are listed as active and 51 recovered. Lethbridge County has 21 cases, 12 active cases and nine recovered.
