Pancake breakfasts begin at Stampede grounds

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The gates at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede opened this morning, but not with the same fanfare as in years past.

There’s no midway, no vendors in the Cypress Centre and there will be no night shows. But there are pancakes.

The Stampede is hosting drive-thru style pancake breakfasts Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the parking lot.

From 8-10 a.m. each day Hatters can pick up a to-go container filled with pancakes, sausage and syrup. The breakfasts will also come with individually wrapped cutlery and packaged juice.

Due to public health guidelines you can not park or get out of the vehicle in the immediate area and only enclosed vehicles can be served, meaning no walk-ups or bike or scooter riders.

The Stampede was cancelled due to COVID-19. It’s the first time it’s been cancelled since the Second World War.
