First responders at scene of serious accident at Holsom Road intersection

Update:

The Medicine Hat Police Service confirms a 58-year-old female motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle accident along Highway 3 and Holsom Road.

A witness to the crash told CHAT News Today that the cyclist reportedly drove through the stop sign, hit the ditch and rolled.

The MHPS traffic investigation team has arrived on scene and traffic will be redirected as the investigation continues.

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat Police Service and first responders are at the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 3 and Holsom Road.

According to @511Alberta on Twitter, the intersection is closed in all directions and major delays should be expected.

Police are asking people to avoid the area until further notice and say that further updates will be provided when they are available.
