Bassano man wins $100,000 in LOTTO 6/49 draw

BASSANO, AB – Sticking with a combination of birthdays and favourite numbers on lottery games paid off for Jesse James Johnston of Bassano. Johnston matched five of the six numbers plus the bonus number for a big win on the June 13 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

His total windfall is $101,124.

“It was awesome,” says Johnston of when he learned of his win by checking his numbers on the Western Canada Lottery Corporation website the next day. He says he tried to stay calm as he went to the store to verify the win on the ticket checker.

Johnston bought the ticket at Emme’s Esso in Bassano and says he’ll use the winnings to pay off his mortgage.
