New Hatter blazing her trail, helping others do the same

MEDICINE HAT, AB – As if moving halfway around the world wasn’t enough of a challenge, Blaise Hunter was dealt the additional blow of having to revamp her business on the fly when she arrived in Medicine Hat in March.

Hunter had been on a six-month stint in the U.K. expanding her consulting agency Blaise the Trail before coming to southern Alberta.

Her main job and source of income is as a keynote speaker at conferences and events and she had a full schedule around the country for the rest of 2020. Then the pandemic wiped her calendar clean and she had to rebrand.

Already a published author, she went back to her roots.

She developed a program — Birth Your Brand, Birth Your Voice and Birth Your Story — that helps people build confidence to get their life to the point where they can blaze their own trail.

“That started a new wave of clients all over the world, helping them write books because now they have time,” said Hunter. “People often in many pockets of our lives want to write a book but they don’t know how to do that. I’ve done it, I took a great mentorship course and now I can teach people how to write. And it’s becoming this amazing business over a complete destruction of my own business.”

Hunter got her start as an author in 2018 after she began writing as a way to heal emotionally from depression, low confidence, poor body image and miscarriages.

She said there was no outlet for her on an emotional level, and her writing birthed Blaise the Trail. Now she’s passing what she learned from the experience on to others.

It’s all led to Hunter being nominated for the Women of Influence award by the Universal Women’s Network. She previously won the Women of Influence award for founding the Footprints Infertility & Pregnancy Loss Support Initiative.

She said she’s grateful that what she’s doing is gaining momentum, and paving the way for her daughter to be the change in this world.

Through it all, she hopes one message is getting to everyone.

“How do you experience any change in this world? You become the movement,” Hunter said.

The awards gala is to be held sometime in the fall, says Hunter, but details are still being worked out.
