Virtual run for Ronald McDonald House

Jun 25, 2020 | 10:14 AM

Local families have another way to support Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) just as the Medicine Hat house prepares to open.

RMHC Alberta has taken its two annual runs and combined them into one province-wide virtual run – Hustle for the House.

From July 6-12 are encouraged to run anywhere, for any distance and any time.

RMHC says houses across the country have seen a drop of between 30 and 70 per cent due to cancellation or postponement of fundraising events.

With this year’s virtual run RMHC is hoping to reach each one of the 194 Alberta communities it served in 2019.

The fundraising goal has been set at $100,000.

Registration costs $35 for adults and $20 for those ages 6 to 17 years old. Kids 5 and under are free. Registration is open now at rmhcalberta.org/events and participants can fundraise until July 12 at midnight.

RMHC Alberta hopes to open the Medicine Hat Ronald McDonald House in early July.
