MEDICINE HAT, AB – Today was another great example of the community of Medicine Hat and area coming together in a time of need.

You still have a chance to donate to the food bank Thursday night for a special cause.

Chat 94.5 and Mr. Lube hosted Basics for Babies today for the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank.

Starting right at 5:30 Thursday morning staff and volunteers were down collecting diapers, baby supplies, and cash for families.

$10 from every oil change also supported the cause.

Mr. Lube owner Chris Hellman knows it’s been a tough year for people.

And says any donation people can give is a big help for the community.

“I think when we found out that the food bank gives out over 50, 000 diapers per year that were a starting point for us and then recognizing all the other baby products like formula. And I think those are items that the public doesn’t generally think of when they’re donating to the food bank.”
