Former Medicine Hat Tiger Ken Holland is among the six newest inductees to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Holland played goal for the Tigers in the 1974-75 and 1975-76 seasons. After his playing career ended Holland embarked on a long and successful career as a general manager in the NHL. He won four Stanley Cups as an executive with the Detroit Red Wings and is currently the GM of the Edmonton Oilers.

Ken Holland will go into the hall as a builder.

Jarome Iginla, Marian Hossa, Kevin Lowe, Doug Wilson and Kim St. Pierre round out the 2020 class.

Iginla was elected in his first year of eligibility following a career that spanned from 1996 through 2017, largely with the Calgary Flames.

Iginla finished his career with 625 goals, 675 assists and 1,300 points and was a standout in Canada’s Olympic gold medal wins in 2002 and 2010.

Marian Hossa was also in his first year of eligibility. Hossa totalled 525 goals, 609 assists and 1,134 points while winning three Stanly Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks

Six-time Stanley Cup champion Kevin Lowe was a rock on the Edmonton Oilers blueline in the 1980s. He was first eligible in 2001.

Defencemen Doug Wilson waited 24 years for enshrinement and won the Norris Trophy as the league’s top defenceman in 1982.

Three-time Olympic gold medallist Kim St. Pierre is the first female goaltender elected to the hall.
