COVID-19 update: Province confirms 48 new cases

EDMONTON AB- Provincial health officials confirmed 48 new cases of the virus today (June 20).

There are 525 active cases of COVID-19 province-wide and 6996 people have recovered.

Hospitalizations, according to the province, remain low with 39 people in hospital and six in intensive care.

In the South Zone, there are 22 active cases with two people currently in hospital.

Geospatial data, which details the number of cases in each region, has not been updated since Friday.

According to the latest update released Friday evening, the city of Brooks has two active COVID-19 cases and 1108 recoveries. The number of deaths remains at nine.

There are no active cases of the virus in Medicine hat. All 36 cases have recovered.
