Drivers clocked at twice the legal limit in early Monday race

MEDICINE HAT — Two young women are facing charges after they were caught racing side by side on Maple Avenue early this morning.
City police say they clocked the vehicles doing 109 kilometers per hour in a 50 kilometer per hour zone around 1:13 this morning.
They were heading northbound on Maple Avenue through First Street and across the Maple Avenue Bridge.
One driver is 20; the other is 18.
Both were charged with excessive speeding and will make a mandatory court appearance.
