Alberta to reveal school re-entry plan today

Jun 10, 2020 | 12:02 PM

Albertans will learn more about the province’s plan to get students back in the classroom this afternoon.

Education Minister Adriana Lagrange is to appear alongside Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province’s chief medical officer of health, at her regular COVID-19 update at 3:30 p.m. CHAT TV will stream the update on chatnewstoday.ca.

On May 6, LaGrange announced that teacher-directed, at-home learning would continue for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

At that time she said there are three potential scenarios for school in September:

  • Normal school operations are able to resume.
  • Schools are partially re-opened, with some level of restrictions.
  • Teacher-directed at-home learning continues.

In-school classes for the current school year were cancelled by the province on March 20.
