Canalta Centre box office open again with reduced hours

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Canalta Centre has started to open their doors to the public this week with limited hours.

Their box office will be open Monday-Thursday from noon-4 pm.

General Manager Tammy Sweeney says they have a few shows they still need to process tickets for and want to make sure its accessible now that Alberta Health has eased up on some restrictions.

They can have up to 10 people in the box office lobby area and there will be tape on the floor for physical distancing

Sweeney doesn’t expect the box office to be too busy.

But they want to give people a choice and a time when it’s convenient for them to stop by.

“We’ve done refunds for most shows there were just two that were later that came about. So Clint Black was cancelled, and then Bachman Cummings was postponed from Live Nation so we don’t know when that will be rescheduled and so we may be offering refunds for that eventually but not quite yet.”

She says refunds are offered when shows are officially cancelled.

If postponed, the show has 30 days to come up with a new date.

“If that date doesn’t work for people then I believe they’ll be offering refunds if people can’t hold on to their tickets when it’s been re-scheduled.”

If people purchase their tickets online through Ticket Master then the refunds will happen automatically.

Sweeney says when they have to come to the Canalta box office, it’s because tickets were purchased there.

As for coming events, Sweeney says PBR in September is the only show still on sale.

Sweeney hopes it will run, but there has been no announcement yet and will follow guidance from Alberta Health.
