Province reports no new cases in Brooks, Medicine Hat

EDMONTON AB- The province is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 province-wide today, bringing the total number of active cases to 604.

There has been one more reported death today, brining the total number to 142.

In total 6245 people have recovered from the virus. Hospitalizations remain low, according to the province with 53 people in hospital, and five in intensive care.

Locally in Medicine Hat, the case numbers remain unchanged from Friday’s update. There are 41 confirmed cases of the virus, eight are active and 33 have recovered.

In Brooks two more active cases have recovered since yesterday. There are now 20 active cases and 1068 recoveries.

Elsewhere in the South Zone, Cypress County has 14 cases. Six are active and eight have recovered. The County of Newell has just one active case remaining, and 14 cases have recovered.

In the city of Lethbridge, two active cases have recovered since yesterday, bringing the number of COVID-19 cases to five active and 22 recovered.

Starting June 1, the city of Brooks and Calgary will be allowed to begin day camps and worship services, within the appropriate guidelines. The timelines for the two cities were delayed because of a high infection rate.
