MEDICINE HAT, AB – A free online social media conference co-ordinated by four Medicine Hat organizations aims to help businesses expand their online reach.

The need for a strong online presence has been highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, says Lisa Kowlachuk, executive director of the Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce.

“These sessions will provide businesses the tools they need to enhance their online presence using the different mainstream platforms and learning about everything from building a content strategy to creating your online voice,” she said.

The chamber, Medicine Hat College, APEX Southeast Alberta and Community Futures Entre-Corp are behind the conference, which will be presented by Jo(e) Media. There will be 16 sessions in total until June 30.

Sandra Milne, regional innovation network coordinator of APEX Southeast Alberta, said the sessions are live and interactive.

“The sessions are in a similar format to a Zoom meeting where you can ask the instructor questions throughout the presentation as opposed to it being prerecorded. It’s a great opportunity to learn from and collaborate with experts in this field,” she said.
