Improvements coming to FLC parking lot, elm tree management to start

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat will take advantage of the closed Family Leisure Centre to make improvements to the parking lot.
Beginning today, May 25, work will be done to improve traffic flow, safety and the number of parking spaces available in the lot. Work will also be done to improve the landscaping and furnishings at the site.
The work is expected to take about two months to complete.
On Tuesday, crews will start injecting city-owned elm trees in various locations with a biopesticide. The biopesticide is both environmentally inert and effective in controlling European Elm Scale, an insect that feeds on elm trees.
