City play structures, skate parks to reopen May 29
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Skate parks, skate spots, fitness parks and outdoor play structures across the city will be open to the public on May 29.
The city released that information on Friday afternoon.
Playgrounds and equipment are currently being prepared for safe use as closure signs are removed, reads a city release. Residents can expect to encounter new signage warning that the structures are not sanitized, and to continue measures to prevent spread of COVID-19 like practice physical distancing, carry/use hand sanitizer, and stay home if sick.
“The City of Medicine Hat is relying on residents to use discretion and make responsible choices to help mitigate virus transmission,” says James Will, general manager of parks and recreation. “Because the structures are not sanitized, this remains a ‘use at your own risk’ scenario, but we will no longer restrict access after May 29.”
