Prairie Gleaners sends soup mix to Zambia
MEDICINE HAT, AB β The Prairie Gleaners Society is continuing to do what it can to send food from southern Alberta to the other side of the world.
Early in April, Prairie Gleaners was asked to fill a 40-foot sea container bound for Zambia through Dynamic Churches International and Bare Feet Ministries in Saskatoon.
On May 7, Prairie Gleaners loaded the container with 11,988 bags of soup mix. Each bag holds enough mix for about 120 cups of soup.
βIn spite of the challenges we face here with the Covid19 Pandemic, it is rather exciting to see vegetables grown here in Southern Alberta feeding people in Africa,β says the group.
