$10,000 for mental health

11 regional charities benefit from first round of CFSEA emergency funding

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta announced the first round of emergency funding to support vulnerable populations during the pandemic.

$52,100 in emergency funding comes from the Spring 2020 Re-purposing funds.

Grant recipients include:

-Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta SE Region $10,000

-Medicine Hat Family Service $8,000

-Medicine Hat BeYOUth Centre $2,500

-Community Food Connections $1,100

-Brooks & County Victim Services Unit Association $2,000

-Brooks Food Bank $6,000

-St. Vincent de Paul Society $10,000

-The Champion’s Centre Inc. – Brooks $1,000

-Oyen and District Food Bank Association $5,000

-Hanna Food Bank Association $5,000

-Empress Friendship Centre $1,500

In addition to the $52,100 announced, the CFSEA will continue to distribute emergency funds from the Spring 2020 Re-purposing grants on a rolling basis over the next few months.

The next application intake will open May 27 with a deadline of June 5.
