Senior driver charged with exceeding the speed limit

MEDICINE HAT, AB- An 82-year-old male driver has been charged with exceeding the speed limit after he was caught driving 102 km/hr in a 50 km zone.

The incident occurred along 20 ST NE and Hatcher Drive on Sunday (May. 10).

The MHPS is reminding the public to stay safe and obey the speed limits.

“This type of driving behavior is both dangerous and unacceptable. Motorists are reminded that all roads within the City of Medicine Hat have a 50kmh speed limit, unless otherwise posted, and 30km/hr playground zones are in effect from 7:30am to 9:00pm daily,” the MHPS said in a statement posted on Facebook.
