Northern Alberta RCMP seek man in connection to assault of two Hatters and a suspicious death

Apr 29, 2020 | 10:22 AM

Mounties in Whitecourt are seeking a man wanted in connection with the aggravated assault of two Medicine Hat residents.

A release from the RCMP says that at about 12:45 a.m. on April 16 they were called to a hotel on Highway 43 where two people were “in need of emergency medical assistance for injuries of a suspicious nature.”

A 46-year-old female and a 39-year-old male, from Medicine Hat were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP obtained a warrant for the arrest of Telford Randall Howe on charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and others.

The release was distributed by RCMP this week after Howe, also known as “Gremlin” or “G,” was identified as a person of interest in a suspicious death in Grande Prairie.

In that incident, an injured male was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries at about midnight on April 25. The male was pronounced dead at the hospital and an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes are asking anyone who knows Telford Howe’s whereabouts, or has information about the incidents, to contact Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-831-2340, Whitecourt RCMP at 780-779-5900 or your local police. The public is cautioned not to approach Howe as he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
