Guilty plea, sentencing for accused in city’s largest meth bust
MEDICINE HAT, AB – A woman charged in connection with one of the city’s largest methamphetamine busts has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail – less credit for pre-trial custody.
Rosalind Sharell Blade, 65, was charged in July 2019 along with five others after city police and officers with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) raided a Medicine Hat home and arrested a connected individual during a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway.
More than a kilogram of methamphetamine was seized along with cocaine, magic mushrooms, prescription drugs and nearly $35,000 in cash.
On Tuesday, Blade entered a guilty plea to possession for the purpose of trafficking.
