Stay @ Home Gala to support local community foundation this weekend

MEDICINE HAT, AB -A virtual fundraiser this weekend will support the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta during the Stay @ Home Gala.

The gala features a silent auction, guest speakers, and entertainment.

Regional events are also part of a cross-country series of the gala.

Hayley Wickenheiser is one of the national guest speakers.

While Mackenzie Porter is the local entertainment headliner.

Emcee of the local segment Trevor Moore says the goal is to raise $25-thousand.

Right now they’re sitting at $11-thousand raised.

All proceeds from the gala will stay in the region to support charities in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Great way to filter some love out across the community right now at times like this. We need some community camaraderie and some community support so I think it’s a great opportunity to turn it into a home date night with music entertainment that’s one click away, literally in the comfort of your own home,” Moore said.

The Stay @ Home Gala is on Saturday, May 2 starting at 5:30 pm.

The stream will be on the Zoom app and includes both the local and national events.
