MEDICINE HAT, AB – HALO is announcing a new addition to the Medicine Hat-based helicopter rescue service’s advocacy efforts with various levels of government and health agencies.

HALO is announcing Dr. Paul Parks as its chief medical officer in a move that is hoped to aid the organization in its continued efforts to improve its service.

“Dr. Parks was our first choice, he’s been the person we’ve been talking to the entire time,” said Paul Carolan, HALO CEO. “It’s a governance and leadership role so Dr. Parks will be assisting us in overall program development as we look to the future and helping us navigate the layers of Alberta Health Services. Dr. Parks brings a wealth of experience – both education and medically to the team.”

Started in 2007 as a one-year pilot program to provide helicopter rescue services in southeastern Alberta HALO has grown to include a second helicopter with a twin-engine which has increased its capability.
