COVID-19 no excuse to disobey rules of the road: MHPS

MEDICINE HAT- The Medicine Hat Police Service is reminding the public that they are still actively patrolling streets, and enforcing road and community safety measures while in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A 64-year-old Calgary man learned that the hard way this afternoon according to police, after he was observed swerving around traffic and going 117 km in a 50 km zone.

The incident took place on Dunmore Road near Ross Glen Drive at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The driver now faces charges under the Traffic Safety Act and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
