Kinsmen Home Lotto draw date postponed

Mar 26, 2020 | 5:09 PM

The 2020 Kinsmen home lotto draw date has been pushed back to May 13th, over a month later from its original March 29th draw date.

“This is a major fundraiser for the Kinsmen Club.”

“This is a major fundraiser for the Kinsmen Club, and it’s really slowed up. So we had to talk to Alberta gaming, and go through some paperwork. We asked for an extension and it was granted to us. So now, instead of the March 29th cutoff, and the April 1st draw, its now a May 10th cutoff, and may 13th is the new draw date,” said Steven Pudwell, Kinsmen Home Lotto co-chair.

The decision to push the draw back was made due to the increased threat of COVID-19 in Alberta.

“Of course like everybody we were affected by the COVID-19 virus. So, what we had done is stepped back, looked, and for the good of the community we had to say we wouldnt bring people to the house. That has slowed the people buying tickets,” said Pudwell.

“So right now, sales are going. We see people going online and through our phone service to buy tickets, we just need to get the word out there and have our community help support the kinsmen.”

Anyone interested in seeing the home can take a virtual tour on the website.
