BREAKING: Pair found deceased after rural fire near Gull Lake

Mar 16, 2020 | 4:08 PM

GULL LAKE, SK – Swift Current RCMP are investigating after two bodies were found following a fatal house fire outside of Gull Lake over the weekend.

RCMP, Gull Lake Fire Department and EMS responded to calls of a structure fire at a rural property northeast of Gull Lake on Sunday.

Police say the farmhouse was fully engulfed in flames and was in the process of collapsing when officers arrived, limiting their ability to be entered by fire crews.

The remains of two people were located inside, their identities have not yet been released pending an investigation by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Efforts were reportedly made to prevent the fire from jumping to nearby buildings.

Police have not located anything suspicious at the scene and don’t believe foul play to be involved, however the cause of the fire will be handled by the Saskatchewan Fire Commissioner.
