OYEN, AB. – Environment Canada has issued a blowing snow advisory for parts of southern Alberta.
The national weather service says winds picking up to 80 km/hr are expected later this afternoon along with an estimated five centimeters of snow.
Environment Canada warns driving conditions may become hazardous because of reduced visibility.
Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours, according to Environment Canada.
