Feb 29, 2020 | 9:56 AM

RED DEER, AB — An overnight fire at a mobile home park west of Red Deer has claimed a life.

The fire at Westview Estates, formerly Les’s Trailer Park, near Burnt Lake broke out just after 1 a.m. Friday.

Blackfalds RCMP says three homes were involved in the blaze when Red Deer County Fire Services responded and evacuated neighbouring properties.

Four people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, including an adult male, adult female and two male children.

Tragically, police say an occupant of one of the homes, believed to be a 7-year-old girl, was located deceased.

A search of the structures involved in the fire continues. It’s expected that investigators will be at the scene for most of the day.

Crews from Blackfalds and Sylvan Lake assisted Red Deer County firefighters in battling the blaze.
