MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat Police say they’re continuing to investigate a fatal collision on the Trans-Canada Highway Monday morning.

The collision occurred on Monday at approximately 10 a.m., just before the Box Springs Road Northwest turnoff. A 40-year-old man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, died as a result of the collision.

Investigators were on scene for several hours, reducing traffic in the westbound lanes of the highway to one lane. Full traffic flow resumed at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The cause remains under investigation, but police say speed and road conditions may have contributed to the crash.
