Snowfall warning over

Feb 24, 2020 | 5:32 AM

MEDICINE HAT — The road map from 511 Alberta this morning is peppered with icons representing snow plows or maintenance vehicles working to clear an overnight snowfall.

Environment Canada ended the snowall warning for the Medicine Hat region at 4:30 this morning.

A snow fall warning for portions of the County of 40 Mile and the Cypress Hills region ended about two hours later.

The wind in open areas was causing some drifting and blowing snow, reducing visibilities.

The snow was also wet and stuck to the road surface and turned to an icy coating quickly.

Highways in all directions from Medicine Hat are snow covered and slippery.

In Saskatchewan the highway hotline road map indicates travel is not recommended for parts of the southwestern corner of the province.

A snowfall warning remains in place for areas including Leader, Gull Lake, Maple Creek, Shaunavon and Cypress Hills in Saskatchewan.
