MEDICINE HAT, AB — The City of Medicine Hat has reduced the number of hours the landfill will be open.
The landfill, which was originally open seven days a week and holidays, will now be open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and closed Sundays and major holidays.
According to a news release, the city says the decision is part of its Financially Fit initiative to help contain costs. The release adds Sunday is the slowest day of the week for the landfill.
They add they do not expect the change in hours to impact the landfill’s ability to handle the volume of use.
