Taber police looking for suspect in hit-and-run with pedestrian

TABER, AB – A pedestrian in Taber was injured over the weekend after being struck by a vehicle.

According to Taber Police Service (TPS), the collision happened at approximately 6:15 pm on Saturday, February 1 at the intersection of 51 Street and 50 Ave.

They report that the pedestrian was crossing the road at the crosswalk when they were hit by a westbound vehicle.

The driver allegedly fled the area with the front passenger side of the vehicle being dented.

β€œThe pedestrian was assessed by ambulance personnel and transported to the Lethbridge hospital for treatment of various injuries,” reads a statement from TPS.

The vehicle of interest has been described as a dark Ford Explorer SUV or a Sport Trac light truck. There is no description of the suspect at this time.
