CYPRESS COUNTY, AB – “You’re in HALO Country”

That’s what will accompany Cypress County signs as you drive through the region.

The first sign was put up this week on the county’s west border on the Trans Canada Highway, which is sponsored by Fox Canada.

Arrangements are being made to put up signs coming in from Saskatchewan, north on Highway 41, and west on Highway 3 in the coming weeks.

CEO Paul Carolan says HALO is a big part of the area and it’s a nice message that serves the public and traffic that drives through the region.

“It’s right in our wheelhouse, we spend unfortunately when the helicopter goes it’s often a traffic accident and so it’s people who are on those highways and byways that we’re going to be serving that are going to know that they’re in an area that’s covered.”

Pending sponsors and approval, Carolan says HALO will see if they can roll out the sign program further into the County of Forty Mile to be even more visible.

The signs are about $400 according to Carolan.
