Pair arrested following Christmas Day attempted break and enter

Medicine Hat, AB – City police were able to track down a pair of break and enter suspects after following their path laid out in the fresh snow on Christmas Day.

Police were called to a business on the 500 Block of South Railway at 10 p.m. Christmas Day as well as the manager of the business after the would-be burglars triggered an alarm.

A window of the business had been smashed and entry gained but police suspect the shopbreaking pair were scared off by an audible alarm.

Police observed sets of footprints leading southbound from the shop with officers setting up containment of the area and located the pair.

A 39-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were arrested a short distance away without incident.
