KINDERSLEY, SASK. — RCMP say a man and woman have been found dead in a home in Kindersley following an investigation into gunshots at a home in the town that spanned most of Thursday.

According to a release from RCMP sent late Thursday afternoon, the bodies were discovered shortly after 3 p.m. at a home in the 1000 block of First Street West. Police had been investigating reports of gun shots in a home in the area since the morning.

“Based on the information gathered thus far, police believe there is no risk to public safety related to this incident,” the release reads.

The incident caused all schools in Kindersley to be placed in hold and secure mode during the day.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit is now handling the investigation. A perimeter set up in the town has reopened, though the residence continues to be secured for further investigation.

Residents can expect an increased police presence in the Kindersley area as officers continue the investigation.
