MEDICINE HAT, AB — A multi-hour power outage that impacted customers in the Box Springs neighbourhood and parts of Redcliff has been resolved.

At 10:50 a.m., the city of Medicine Hat posted on its social media channels that power was back on for the majority of customers

According to the city, the outage occurred at 5:50 a.m., after a transport truck broke two poles in the Broadway area of Box Springs and Redcliff and became tangled in the wires.

A map of the outage area can be seen below.

As of 11 a.m., all but five customers had their power restored. The remaining outages are at the site of the incident, and the city says crews will continue to work to restore all power, though no timeline was given.

More to come.
