MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two members of the Medicine Hat Tigers will be representing their home country in a tournament next month.

Goaltender Mads Søgaard and forward Jonathan Brinkman will both suit up for Denmark at the 2020 U20 World Championship Division 1 Group A Tournament in Belarus running December 9-15.

The tournament includes Latvia, Belarus, Slovenia, Austria and Norway. The tournament is a single game round-robin format where each team plays each other once. The team that finishes first in the tournament will be promoted to the top division at the 2021 U20 World Junior Championship. The lowest-ranked team in the tournament gets relegated to the Division B group.

Denmark is looking to return to the World Juniors after being relegated the year before. They will play Latvia on December 9.
