Nov 21, 2019 | 6:52 AM

REDCLIFF, AB — Redcliff RCMP are investigating a complaint of a home invasion in the town Tuesday night.

Around 10:30 p.m. two men wearing balaclavas forced their way into a home in the 400 block of 4th Street Southeast and used bear spray on one of the occupants of the residence.

The other occupant fled the home and was seen running down the 400 block of 4th Street S.E. Redcliff.

After taking undisclosed items the suspects left the home down the back alley for a vehicle they had parked on 4th Avenue S.E. Redcliff.

Mounties believe the general public has nothing to fear from this incident.

“It is a residential area, but we believe that this particular house was targeted,” said S/Sgt Sean Maxwell. “It’s part of the investigation. as to why, we can’t say, at this point. But, at this point, the general public has nothing to fear from this as far as we know.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Redcliff RCMP at 403-548-2288 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
