Police arrest driver following multi-vehicle crash Saturday

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A 52-year-old man is facing charges following a multi-vehicle collision in the city’s south end on Saturday afternoon.

According to Medicine Hat Police, multiple vehicles collided with an older Chevrolet truck at the intersection of Strachan Road and 13th Avenue Southeast.

The grey truck was reportedly driving erratically around 15 minutes prior to the crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Husky gas station.

Police say the heavily damaged truck fled the scene and was found shortly after in the 4000 block of 13th Avenue Southeast, with officers arresting the driver as well.

No injuries were reported in the collision and police are estimating damage at over $100,000.
