EDMONTON — The Alberta government says producers drilling new conventional oil wells, won’t be subject to production limits.
The U-C-P government hopes the changes, which are effective today, will lead to increased drilling activity and support economic growth in Alberta communities.
“Companies are currently making investment decisions and we want those dollars and jobs to be in Alberta. We are doing everything we can to help.”

The changes come as Alberta saw it’s unemployment rate move up a tenth of a point in October, to 6.7 per cent.
