Lethbridge Police Investigate third child abduction attempt on west side

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police are investigating what they say is a third child abduction attempt in recent weeks.

This time, police say around 4:30 Monday afternoon (Oct. 21), they responded to a home on Mount Sunburst Place West near Sunridge Park, after a nine-year-old boy reported that a male followed him in an alley and grabbed him by the hand.

The boy pulled away and ran home. Police searched the area but were not able to locate a suspect. The suspect is described as male, wearing a black hoodie, black pants and may have had a skull tattoo on his left arm.

On Oct. 15, police also reported two child abduction attempts on the same road, after a after a seven-year-old girl also reported a man tried to grab her through the fence of a home.

As police were investigating at that time, they learned the seven-year-old previously said that a male had chased her and attempted to grab her by the arm as she was walking home from school on Oct. 9, 2019. The Oct. 9 incident was not reported to police at the time.

The man in that incident is described as a Caucasian male, with dark hair, a thin build, a tattoo on his right wrist and a gold ring with a diamond on this right hand. He was wearing a black hoody, dark pants and black dress shoes.
