Council approves land sale on Primrose Drive

EDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat City Council has approved the sale of a controversial piece of green space near Medicine Hat College.

Councillors unanimously approved the sale of 352 Primrose Drive to Enclave Ventures, a private developer.

The company is planning to build a 61-unit development of duplexes, town homes and stacked units. The sale was for $1 million

The rezoning of the land was approved last fall by City Council, despite strong opposition from area residents.

Senior Service model

Medicine Hat City Council also voted to move towards a multi-service model for senior services in Medicine Hat.

The decision also includes potentially looking outside Medicine Hat for a new operator. The city will be issuing requests for proposals from private companies, and asking residents about the services they would like to see in the future, according to city documents.
