Paddlers brave weather
Medicine Hat, AB – Members of the Medicine Hat Paddling Club didn’t let the single-digit temperatures and chilly wind cool their spirits as they hit the river for the club’s Hat, Hat Regatta on Saturday.
“It’s a cold day but it’s the seventh annual Hat, Hat Regatta,” said club president Rick Redmond on Saturday. “I think it’s impressive. We’ve got five folks out and it’s plus four out now and they’re calling for snow this afternoon.”
Redmond says after Saturday’s paddle, the club will be moving on to indoor training but it was all in all a good year for the city’s paddlers.
“The last full moon paddle we had 20 people come out and watch the moon come out two weeks ago,” said Redmond.
